Another product We've recently gotten into is the Vacuum Tube Preamp. Tubes are coming back from the ages due to their smooth, silky and robust texture they add to the Music! This unit is designed to go between your C.D. player, MP3 player, or even DVD player's Audio & your Stereo's input. It Buffers the Music signal though a 12au7 Tube and smooths out the music- for a less harsh, less Digital Sound.
The basis of this Preamp is an old 1930's low-voltage design, which I updated for Modern use. Typically, Starved-Plate designs seem to be lacking in dynamics and sound quality, and I believe this design overcomes that. The input architecture maintains the music's sonics, using high-quality metal-oxide resistors and polypropelene bypass caps. The signal wiring is completely shielded using 22 gauge microphone cable, and the terminals are all gold-plated. The result is better dynamics, and rich undistorted sound, with beautifully defined nuances to the music signal. Prices on these units range from $125-$245.
