Which one is the best of these two home theater systems : Harman Kardon HKTS 30BQ or Infinity TSS 1200?

Hi,
I am planning to buy 5.1 channel home theater system. Confused which one to buy, HKTS 30BQ or TSS 1200. I have gone through specs and see that TSS 1200 has good specs, but I really want to know which ones sounds great, not in terms of high volume but in terms of clarity and effects etc.

Any suggestions will be really appreciated. Thank You.

Onkyo HT-S9100THX is well known for its excellent sound quality.

The HT-S9300THX is coming out very soon. With discounts from a store like Amazon.com or Buy.com, it should be a fantastic deal.

Wait for the HT-S9300THX! Onkyo has the best home theater audio systems in a box. It has KI1.4A HDMI with 3D capabilities which is a plus since 3D will get big over the next few years regardless of what you hear.

Which brand is best when it comes to Blu-ray home theater systems?

I bought an LG model last year and in the year that I’ve had it, it’s been one disaster after another and I have never messed with it at all. So now it appears that I will be saving up for another while my current continues to go to pieces. Since I no longer trust LG (though the salesmen told me LG was the best there was), is there another company that distributes a good product as oppose to a good "promise"?

In all products you will get lemons but a salesman will say anything to make a sale. I don’t know how they sleep at night. Anyways do some research here and read the reviews. All people have opinions and I like Sony and Samsung and Panasonic.

Do you think Bose Home Theater Systems are worth buying?

If you have one, which model do you have?

It’s about what you prefer, not any of us. I guarantee all of us have different audio setups, because we all have different tastes. With that said, if you prefer the sound of Bose next to the sound of other brands (which lots of people do), and it fits your needs, then that’s all that counts.
I don’t have personal experience with their service, but from what I hear it’s pretty good. A friend of mine broke one of the speakers installing it and bose sent him a replacement. I’m not sure any other brand would do that.
So really, this is a question only you can answer.

What is the purpose having two home theaters hooked up with splitters? Just use regular a/v, component or hdmi cables.

What home theater systems should I look at?

I’m starting to look at my own home theater system for my room because I want surround sound. I don’t know what I should look at though. I want a 4.1 or 5.1….And I just want the speakers/subwoofer, no DVD or Blu-ray player with it. What I don’t understand is whether I need floor speakers or just the smaller ones for my room. And where do you position the 4 or 5 speakers if they are all small ones?

Please help, I’m very new to this.

Well, what size is your room?
If it is small – medium, then floor standers may be too much…although, they do relieve the need of a subwoofer to some extent unless you want room-shaking-bass.
Many bookshelf speakers these days are sufficient – and able to fill even a large room full of sound- you do need a sub to assist.

Usually, receivers power 5- 7 satellites… This includes a centre channel- which usually handles most of the vocals. All DVD or bluray movies are recorded in Dolby digital or dts: 5.1 or 7.1 formats… Which means that your 4.1 system option is incompatible and would have to do a conversion for it to work.
This is why 5.1 / 7.1 systems are more abundant vs. 4.1 (which I’ve only seen in computer gaming systems).

As far as positioning…
Any 5.1 or 7.1 system that is sold would give placement instructions… And some supply also an auto-calibration mic and module.

Hope this helps!

Any suggestions for Home theater sound systems?

I have a 46" Samsung and my speakers some got blown. Im looking for a whole theater system, but do not know really what Im looking for, or good brands, or good speakers. We want good system that will rumble the house to a good movie =) I dont want spend a lot of money on speakers that wont be loud or good enough. I know we want an active sub. So anyways, any suggestions would be super awesome! Thanks!

A lot depends on how large your room is how far away you sit and what type of acoustic treatment windows carpet etc….Take a look at these systems…

are there any home theater systems with 2 HDMI in’s?

I’m looking for a decent home theater system that has 2 HDMI pass throughs. I have a sony system in my living room, but i don’t want to spend another $500. just looking for a simple setup for my bedroom, and i really like the HDMI ins.

There are alot with more than 2 HDMI plugs. Denons have 4, but they cost a lot. You can almost buy anything if you have enough money

What do you think about Bose Home Theater Systems?

I’m debating on whether or not to purchase a Bose Home Theater System. I’m just curious, for the people who have already purchased one, are they worth it? They are quite a bit of money and I don’t want to get one unless it’s something that I won’t regret. Thanks so much for the help!

Among audio people Bose is a bit of a joke. They are over priced for what they are but not expensive compared to truly good products. You can certainly get a lot better than Bose but in my opinion most of the mass market stuff in a similar price range with Bose isn’t very good either. Still you would be better off with most any other product, Bose is certainly among the lowest quality overall.

If you spend maybe $300 ~ $400 on a cheap receiver like Onkyo, Pioneer, or Denon then maybe get some small speakers like the Monitor Audio Radius R90HD and some sort of subwoofer then this will have similar advantages to Bose like small size but should sound quite a bit better.

It’s really not easy to make a great sounding system that is as compact as Bose. There are physical limitations that prevent it. So it depends on what you want. If you want tiny little speakers that don’t draw attention to themselves visually then I think you will like the Radius R90. If you want sound quality and don’t care about the physical size then you need something bigger and you need to spend more than the price of the Bose.

What is the best home theater system for around $200-300?

I’ve looked at Samsung and Sony’s home theater systems for about $200, but are those low quality? Should I buy a used Bose instead? What effect will this have when I watch movies?

Sony HTSS360 5.1 channel Home Theater System is a good set for your budget.

Is there any way a regular home stereo can act as a receiver for a home theater system?

I have a Craig shelf system with a 3CD changer and an AM/FM tuner. It has two matching speakers that attach to the back with a red and black wire for each. As you can tell, I know nothing when it comes to audio systems. What I’m wondering is if I can use this stereo as a receiver and just buy the speakers rather than the entire home theater system, seeing as how the receiver is the most expensive part.

Thanks

No, you can’t.
