How do I make my Home Theatre system turn on with my TV?

I have an Onkyo HT-S3300 Home Theatre System. I own a Panasonic TC-L42D2 (42 Inch LED-LCD TV). I realized that whenever I turn off my TV, the AV turns off with the TV. When I turn on my TV, my theatre system doesn’t turn on by itself; I have to manually turn it on.

Buy a logitech harmony remote or something similar that you can program to turn everything on at once.

What components make up a home theatre system?

What components make up a home theatre system?
Basic question but have no idea.

Cheers

The one piece everyone seems to forget and and might be the most important piece is a good universal remote control that is well programmed as it makes the system so much easier and more enjoyable to use. I would strongly suggest setting aside a budget of at least $500 to get a decent remote and have it professionally programmed by someone who knows what their doing.

As for the equipment that is required:

Video Source: TV, or projector and screen

Source: Cable or Satelite, Dvd, or Blue-ray player

Speakers: minimum of 5 speakers plus a subwoofer, (left, right, center, two rear surround speakers and a subwoofer)

Amplification & Preamp: Receiver or separates(surround sound preamp, amplifiers to drive all speakers

Seating & popcorn lol

I would strongly suggest to anyone buying a home audio or video system to purchase from your local independent hi-end audio video store as they have better equipment to choose from, they are much more knowledgeable to help you choose the right equipment for your budget and room. Not only are you buying better gear and getting the knowledge and expertise to help you choose the right system but you will need their help with any issues that arise in the future.

And I promise you, it will !

They also know how to install and Program universal remotes correctly

How to set up a Home Theatre System?

I got a HD Sony DVD player with Sony Home Theatre System(five speakers). Now when i watch DVD from the HD DVD player, all the sounds came out from the five speakers, but when i turn the DVD player off and switch to watching TV programes or PS3, the sound only came out from the TV speakers. Now im trying to get all the five speakers to work not just when using the HD DVD player, should i buy an extra audio cable, because its not included and how should i set it up correctly?

This nifty interactive connectivity guide from rival Philips is very helpful.

What Brand Is Best For Home Theatre System ?

I am going to venture out on boxing day looking for a home theatre system for my living room. I have been doing some research on home theaters but have not been able to find the very best brands. The only brand i refuse to buy is bose because everyone who I have talked to says they are under built and overpriced. Any Suggestions.

Thanks
I will be using Blueray

ultimateavmag.com has amazing reviews on home theatre. if your looking for just a home theatre in a box, many people recommend onkyo.

what is the best positioning of my 5.1 channel home theatre system to get the best quality sound?

I have a philips home theatre system of 94 watts RMS sound output.

You need to take into consideration the critical distance. The critical distance is the point at which the sound from the source and the the reflected sounds are in phase, and are reaching the listener at the same time.

The distance from the listener should be based off the critical distance. Be sure the transducers are pointed directly at the listener’s center-line at ear-level, all at equal distances. When running a test tone through all 5 speakers, the sound should be heard from all directions equally.

Lower frequencies are omnidirectional, so therefore the subwoofer can be placed anywhere.

Note that with this setup, the listener cannot move from this position, or tilt their head to much in any direction, otherwise the quality can be adversely affected, and they’ll experience some crazy psycho-acoustic side effects.

How do I connect my new home theatre system to my Direct TV?

I have Direct TV and I bought a home theater system with a built in DVD player. Do I hook it up to the Direct TV box and if so, how do I do it? I’ve connected all the speakers but I don’t know what goes where to get it hooked up to the Tv and Direct TV box. Thank you!

it should have a two prong that says audio out you plug a red and white sound cord in and then to your reciever and your sound runs from your surround sound speakers

Pioneer LX01 – does anyone have this home theatre system?

I am looking to buy a home theatre system and the Pioneer LX01 sounds great on paper. Does anyone have first hand experience of using this? How does it sound? Does the lack of a central speaker affect the sound quality?

Actually the MOST IMPORTANT part of your system is the SPEAKERS…..not the amp as much.

However, if you plan on getting a home theater KIT…the units are actually matched together and sound very GOOD for what they are…. (they are not Audiophile’s New Play-toys)

But when it comes down to ALA CARTE setups….well, there are so many choices, that the BEST advice I can give you is….

NEVER BUY THE CHEAPEST…..always step it up at LEAST one level higher….

Can use other speakers with another receiver or another home theatre system?

I have a Panasonic home theatre system and my brother gave me his speakers from his home theatre system but its a another brand (samsung) his receiver broke so basically he gave me it since no one willing to buy it . So is there a way i can use it?

Yes, you can use the speaker from other brands for your system. Home theater in a box does not really have much power to drive large speaker systems. Just make sure you do not try to connect the speakers on top of the other speakers you have already. If you do that you can change the load and can burn your system also. Hope this helps.

Which is the best buy for a good home theatre system with a dvd or LCD projector in India?

Where can I find fair offers for a good home theatre system with a DVD or LCD projector in India?

Look for Sony or Panasonic outlets. They have the best home theatre systems. I have them both, one in my main house and the other in my farm house.
