Are the speakers that come with home theatre systems wireless? like this home theatre system inside?

http://reviews.cnet.com/home-theater-systems/samsung-ht-bd1250/4505-6740_7-33488076.html?tag=rnav

is it wired. or can i put the speakers everywhere if they are wireless

This comes directly from the link you provided:

"The HT-BD1250 is "wireless rear speaker ready," meaning that you need to purchase the additional SWA-4000 accessory to enable wireless rear speaker functionality. Like virtually all wireless speaker systems, you still need to run speaker wires from the SWA-4000 to your rear speakers, but at least you won’t have to run speaker wires from the front of your home theater to the back. (We did not have the SWA-4000 on hand, so we were not able to test this functionality.) "

So no it’s not wireless. If it is it will say so. It’s a selling point…

I am looking for home theatre systems in the Rs (Indian) 15,000-20,000 range?

I am keen on Sony, but have heard that there has been an overall drop in quality, after-sales service, etc. Is this true ? In case sony is still ok, any suggestions on models? If not, any alternatives?

I agree with Kartz. Sony home theatres are good.

As far as I’m concerned I have always had a decent experience with them. I would recommend that you compare the quality and features of all top brands, including Sony and do a comparative check.

They have just launched a Blu-ray home theatre system. This one is very futuristic and hence expensive. You could check the following link for full line up on home theatre system. They have many series to match your requirements -http://www.sony.co.in/productcategory/hts-dvd-home-theatre-system

Which types of televisions and home theatre systems are compatible for playing 3D DVDs?

You will be able to view 3D movies on any TV and home theater system, however if you wanted the best 3D performance, you would need to buy a 3D TV and a 3D Blu-Ray player. With regular TVs, the image will come out of the screen but it wont be anything spectacular, with the new 3D TVs its much more exciting and gets you off your seat.

Home theatre systems – where is the am/fm stereo ?

I know im showing my age here but if we buy a new flat panel plasma or lcd or led television and then we buy new type home theatre system with blue ray if doesnt have fm stereo. Do we have to buy a seperate stereo and then hook it into the system to hear through the speakers. Some one please explain. Also I dont want the surround sound system we buy just to work when we watch a dvd I want it to work on regular tv as well.

Most home theater systems include a FM/AM tuner. Pretty basic option.
There are many different types of systems, some which include dvd or blu-ray players in them, and some that include speakers also. Quality goes up when matching a dedicate audio/video reciever and matched individual or a set of speakers. It depends on what kind of budget you have ($200 or $20k), the quality of experience you’re looking for, ease of use (including who in the home operates it), and room placement/design (acoustics/aesthetics). Demo different set ups in a showroom and ask alot of questions. While 7.1 with the right setup sounds so much better than 5.1 to me, it might not to you. Also, there is a limited number of movies recorded that way. Bring some music/movies with you that you know very well to compare. Let them know what equipment you currently have or looking to get. This will make the connection process easier, which can be complicated for some, but can be done with a little know how. Brush up on HDMI and digital audio including DTS Master Audio and optical cables.

Are HiFi systems equivalent to Home Theatre Systems with respect to the sound quality…?

How much role does a soundcard play for the quality of the music. What’s the best bet for producing quality sound which can be connected to a computer as well as a gaming console?

Hi-Fi basically mean high fidelity being able to produce audio frequency range of 20-20k.

A home theater system can be labeled as a hi-fi system in which the term can be construed colloquially as a "good sounding system." There isn’t any distinction between whether there’s a 2 channel or 5.1 system when using that term.

For your computer, I would recommend a sound card that is THX certified with 24-bit/192kHz @ stereo or 24-bit/96kHz for 5.1.

I have a Soundblaster THX certified Audigy 2 sound card and it is awesome and superior to most products out there. If you’re looking for professional studio quality, expect to invest in several thousands of dollars for studio engineering quality.

If all you’re interested in games and to produce rich, clean, decent, music, then expect to spend about $250.00 for a sound card. Speakers are very important as well, so don’t discount the quality of the speakers you’re planning to invest.

Becky is a manufacturer’s representative selling home theatre systems to businesses. Under her contract, she r?

Becky is a manufacturer’s representative selling home theatre systems to businesses. Under her contract, she receives a monthly salary of $2,400 plus a 2.40% commission on sales exceeding her quota of $200,000 per month.

a) What are her earnings for a month in which she hypothetically has $270,000 in sales? For full marks your answer(s) should be rounded to the nearest cent.

b) If on the course of the first year of employment her average monthly sales are $275,000, what straight commission rate would generate the same average monthly earnings as she gets from her contract? Note: Please make sure your final answer(s) are in percentage form and are accurate to 2 decimal places. For example 34.56%

a) What are her earnings for a month in which she hypothetically has $270,000 in sales?
Becky’s earnings = 2400 + 0.024(270000 – 200000)
= 2400 + 1680 = $4080.00

b) If on the course of the first year of employment her average monthly sales are $275,000, what straight commission rate would generate the same average monthly earnings as she gets from her contract?
Under the contract, her earnings = 2400 + 0.024(275000 – 200000)
= 2400 + 1800 = 4200
Straight commission rate = 4200/275000 x 100 = 1.52727
rounded to 1.53%

Best Home Theatre Systems ?

I am going to venture out on boxing day looking for a home theatre system for my living room. I have been doing some research on home theaters but have not been able to find the very best brands. The only brand i refuse to buy is bose because everyone who I have talked to says they are under built and overpriced. Any Suggestions.
I will be using Blueray and i am willing to spend up to $1500.

Do NOT buy a ’system’. They usually are not expandable, poor quality and when 1 part breaks you have to toss the set away and start from scratch.

Get a good AV Receiver like the Onkyo TX-SR505. Anything by Yamaha or Denon would be a good choice as well.

Then find a 5.1 set of speakers from a REAL speaker company – a company that only makes speakers. Polk, Klipsch, Definitive, Energy, B&W, etc. You want 5 monitor-style speakers and a self-powered subwoofer.

You should be able to find name brand sets that work well now, but let you upgrade things later if interest and money permits.

Search the internet to order HDMI cables and 12 ga speaker wire. The stores will push you to buy their stuff because there is 50% profit on these items.

which company is better in home theatre systems?

Which is better in home theatre systems. Sony or Samsung.
Sony : http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=1005043&navigationPath=n45940n33247

Samsung – http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=audiovideo&type=hometheatre&subtype=hometheatresystems&model_cd=HT-TWZ415T/XAC

Neither are what I would call good.

If I had to choose between the two listed, I’d go with Sony even though I dislike most Sony products.

Look at Onkyo:

For about $800 (msrp $1099) http://hometheater.about.com/od/hometheaterinaboxinfo/p/OnkyoHTS9100.htm
7.1, HDMI Switching, THX certified… this has every option most people may want. This is by no means a low-end system. This is something that will bring you years of satisfaction. Just add a dvd and you are set!
