People who think …
People who think the more Watts the better obviously don’t know their electronics. For receiver A to be outputting sound 2x as loud (measured in decibals dB), as tuner B, tuner A would need to have 10x the wattage. So if one receiver is outputting 100 watts / channel, for a receiver to be twice as loud it would need to be outputting 1000 watts / channel. So paying rediculous amounts for the difference between 100/channel and say 140/channel is moronic to say the least.

People also use …
People also use receivers for home cinema which almost all sound hazy thin and are( to use a car term) all about revs and no torque. If you only watch merchant ivory films then tube amps are great…but i occaisonaly enjoy mindless action and even esoteric tubes on 95 db speakers aernt going to be as fast in the bass as a similar priced transistors. I have owned many a tube amp my own system is 36 grand and i have ribbons on a transistor pre power which does most tube stuff only with tight bass.

Well, I have very …
Well, I have very efficient speakers, so I guess tube amps will work for me.
And yes, people use tube amps all the time for home cinema.
May 30th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Yeah we are talking …
Yeah we are talking home cinema! This amp is not the mother of all amps not just in power but design. I cant stand people that make false claims just because its high end kit…Tube amps for home cinema?.,.I dont want die hard to be as smooth as butter!..,and low powered tubes need very efficent speakers! Also only the most costly beat transistors the best amps are hybrid and for films maybe tubes on top end but not bass! So dont call me fool mr .T i have worked in high end hifi for some time.

You’re a fool.
You …
You’re a fool.
You think the more watts the better.
Not how it works.
Most tube amps are only around 25 watts per channel, but will murder 90% of amps out there.
Just the facts.
