Surround Sound Electronics

Electrostatic speaker made be students at Technical University of Denmark using a DEAP material from Danfoss Polypower. The polymer material consists of two layers of silver with silicone inbetween. The project is made by Mikkel Grøndbech, Mathias Immanuel Nielsen, Julian Skovgaard and Tobias Due Munk.

i have and s&c 6.1 sound unit. is it possible i can add a harmon kardon surround sound system or something similar and use booth at the same time.
Not quite sure what you mean but I run everything via hdmi leads.Eg. Sky. Playstion

To what end?

Wondering if we buy a surround sound system does it work the same as a home theatre system?

For best sound you want to get an audio video receiver a separate speaker system and Blu ray player…you can get an entry level receiver for as little as $140 and speakers for as little as $150 you will get a much better sound this way and your options for the future will be much more flexible….take a look at receivers bu Sherwood or Onkyo and speakers by Jamo; Energy or Dayton….for entry level stuff that is not too expensive but still has good quality…

Do I connect the digital optical audio out from the TV to the digital optical audio in on the surround sound system? Or do I need to connect the cable box out directly to the surround sound system in?

Also, can I get surround sound from HD TV channels with a Dolby Digital 5.1 system?

Connect optical cable directly from cable box to sound system for audio, this way you can get surround sound from HD channel with your 5.1 system.
