Falkenlaser: “I … Falkenlaser: “I really don’t know the specific version, but I know it’s their newest, and that it’s way better than the old Atom. They seriously are amazing speakers for the money!”

P. Atom Monitors watt power: 80 only.
P. Cinema 110 C watt power: 70 only.
P.Cinema ADP 190: 80 watts only.
Im sure if you buy a receiver or an amp thats MORE powerful than these speakers can handle, well u will know woot will happened to them.
In my experience, … In my experience, you can get better speakers than than Bose costing less than half the cost of Bose’s speakers, especially the Lifestyle 35, 38, 48, V20, and V30. Heck, for half of the price of the Lifestyle 48, you could a sound system that destroys it plus a Blu-ray player. And for the price of any of those systems, you could get something AMAZING.
I actually have … I actually have been spoiled by the nearly untouchable quality of low-end audio reproduction the JL Audio home subwoofers are able to achieve. It was in the same audition room actually where I bought my Klipsch RP-10 (really, not a bad subwoofer for the price I bought it for – or even for retail price). I went in to the store looking for a subwoofer in the low end the KRKs can’t reach, and the very respectable dude there obtained me a good deal on the Klipsch. The JL is immensely incredible.
I’ve heard of Jamo. … I’ve heard of Jamo. They’re a division of Klipsch, aren’t they? The iPod Jamo audio system is nearly identical to the Klipsch iFi – which I own -, in terms of function, iPod-base, and remote design. They definitely have some affiliation.
I’m personally looking at the Behringer A500 to replace this aging, half-working Kenwood amp that has nobly served my power needs for the past three-four years. My KRKs sound incredible as it is, I’m very excited to experience their true potential
I’m not sure if … I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard any of Paradigm’s non-subwoofer speakers. I probably have, but can’t recollect any specific event. I’m definitely sticking to my KRK studio monitors for my higher-bass, mid-range, and treble needs. They utterly annihilate nearly any speaker you can buy at a “big-brand” store, and compare extremely competitively with high-end Hi-Fi speakers costing around four-to-five times as much. Given they’re near-field nature, they’re extremely defined.
The speakers, for … The speakers, for what they are, are great, but the mid-range and bass could be improved on. Still, they have a great sound to them, especially for their market.
There is a definite disadvantage to having unites integrated with other mechanical functions, but with Bose, they actually are very well built that rarely any problems occur with the units. Bose doesn’t use the best materials available, but they do make solidly built products.
Speaking of JL … Speaking of JL Audio, you should seriously go check out their Fathom, and if your lucky, their Gotham. The Fathom, which ranges from $2100 to $3600 depending on the size, is the best reviewed sub ever. It competes with subs costing 10x as much. I’ve heard the 10 and the 13, and the feeling when watching a movie is undescribable. It gives you goosebumps! Not to mention the 10 has 900 watts RMS and the 13 has 2500, and both model’s drivers have an XMAX of 3+ inches!
You should check … You should check out Paradigm’s Cinema speakers. We have Cinema 70s as surrounds and the 110C as the center downstairs, and when we got them I was again a bit dissapointed cause they were cheap. But, when I heard them at the dealer used as front speakers powered by a simple $200 Sony amp, and coupled with a 12 in. Velodyne sub, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I seriously had to go up to them to make sure the sound was coming from them. These things totally blow away Bose’s speakers.
Yeah you’ve heard a … Yeah you’ve heard a bit more than me. But, I try to stay out of the big-box stores (no offense). The brands I clearly remember hearing are Paradigm (own the Atoms), Paradigm Reference, Wharfedale (family owns the Diamond 9s), Klipsch, B&W, Wilson, Velodyne, JL Audio (their home stuff), and Yamaha, Sony, Anthem, and Classe components.
Speaking Wilson, I got hear their Maxx Series 2s, $50K a pair! I also got to see their Alexandria X2, which are $150,000 a pair!
I will say that … I will say that Bose has made ONE of a user interface. If they made better speakers, and added a Blu-Ray player, they’d be a force to reckon with.
But, the big disadvantage to those all-in-one systems is that if a function, such as the DVD player, breaks, then you have to replace the whole unit, meaning you can’t use your system at all. If you have a component system and something breaks, you can replace just that one unit.
I got a simple 8- … I got a simple 8-inch Jamo sub, but holy crap does it thump. When my family got it, I was a little bit dissappointed cause I thought it was cheap, but my thoughts quickly changed! But, my real pride and joy is my 12 in. JL Audio W3v3 in my car. It’s powered by a JL A-series amp. It plays so low and so clean!
As for my home amp, I have a Yamaha RX-N600. I got it half off, so that was pretty cool. Hopefully I can get some Paradigm Cinema surrounds and center. Also, I use IXOS cables.
Do you happen to … Do you happen to have a subwoofer? Which amplifier are you using? What speaker cables are you using?
Man, haha, this may seem a tad odd, but I’m seriously so pumped to have my studio monitors set back up – and I just cleaned up my room, thus being in a good mood is understandable :]
Also, I’m not … Also, I’m not necessarily going back on what I’ve stated earlier, but concretely re-iterating, or going more in-depth about the fact that Bose are not meant for the best sound quality for the price, and that you can get easily superior sound quality for lesser money. Bose do, however, sound very good, especially considering their size.
I do, though, ultimately prefer the superior sound quality of higher-end speakers, and especially those of which utilize larger drivers, overall :]
Hey man. A … Hey man. A wonderful event happened today. I re-hooked up my studio monitors and Klipsch subwoofer, and they do sound significantly better, overall in terms of sound reproduction and clarity. It could be that I was using the Bose for a while, then switched to headphones, but the Bose do sound very clear, the studio monitors, sound much richer, fuller, transparent, distinct, and solid, with more power in the lower ranges, and better treble reproduction. This isn’t to say Bose are bad, at all.
Acoustic Research, … Acoustic Research, KRK (own two ST-6 passive monitors), Klipsch (own the iFi, and RP-10 subwoofer), Infinity (own the P-150s), Spica (my mother owns the TC-50’s – some of the best book-shelfs ever made), B&W, Def-Tech, Polk, JBL, M-Audio (studio monitors), and even Paradigm. All sound phenomenal, and overall, better than Bose, but the sound Bose offers is very uniquely enjoyable, revealing, separated, clear, and smooth.
He must have them … He must have them set up wrong. I used to have the C3’s, and those little single-driver satellites put out astonishing treble, and the mid-range they produce, was very clear. They can image like no-other satellite speaker I’ve ever heard, when setup properly. When you have a Bose system setup optimally, you’ll get great sound quality, which will have an acoustic effect of forceful sound-waves hitting you with fortitude.
I should have … I should have mentioned that on my right there’s my roommate’s Companion 3 speakers, and on my left there’s one of my Paradigm Atoms. The Companions put out almost no sound; almost everything comes from the bass module. Speaker of my Atoms, when I watch an action movie, these things get FREAKING LOUD. With aluminum dome tweeters and an acoustic lens, these things make it feel like bullets and glass shards hit you with force. NO Bose speaker can come close to what these can do.
