How can i get surround sound from my playstation 3?
I’m planning to get surround sound for my PS3 but i don’t know much about this stuff, can anyone tell me what i need to buy and what to do? But just the things that i really need I don’t have that big of a budget. I’m from the Philippines by the way so if anyone can give instructions on where to go please do. Also, my dad set up a 5.1 surround sound in my room a few years ago, and i was wondering if i could use that instead of buying a new one and if i can, how? He said it’s impossible, the speakers are too small, each of them is about 4.5×4.5 inches, will it really not work? Oh yeah and if i do need to buy something new, how much would it cost, it’s fine to tell me in dollars, I’ll just convert it.
yes you can use your Dads stuff, you just going to need a nice big sub woffer, spend a little more then you want too, and get a nice deep one, but since you speakers are small one that will go to at least 100 hz

basically you need to have a receiver – like Dennon they are the best out there….Then you just need some good speakers – two rear speakers for the surround, and then you would need to main large speakers, and a center channel….you’ll be blown away. The speakers and PS3, along w/ any other components like your cable/sat. and DVD player would ALL hook up to the receiver….

You will probably need to buy new speakers that would work with your new receiver…
A low-end Dennon Receiver goes for about $600. I don’t have a suggestion on a good consumer based / lower priced option though, as I work with High-end home theaters…the receiver I just mentioned is a high end consumer price however…..the better dennons of course go for a much higher price…but for your needs this basic one would work fine for your needs I am sure….as it works great for my boyfriend and I!
